UOA Supports Flag Football for New Jersey Kids
In the past decade, researchers, athletes and parents have become more aware of the dangers of football, most notably concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). One New Jersey town has decided to do something about it.
The Princeton Junior Football League is a flag football league in Princeton, NJ for players in grades one through eight. To cut down on injuries, there is no tackling in the league; instead, defenders attempt to strip flags worn on the belt from the ball carrier.
University Orthopaedics Associates (UOA) is a proud sponsor of the Princeton Junior Football League. We believe in and support any and all measures to limit head and other injuries in youth sports. The league was highlighted on episode 262 of HBO’s Real Sports With Bryant Gumbel.
