About Us

I first met Dr. McDonnell when my mother was suffering with lower back pain. I was impressed by his friendly and cheerful demeanor. He has the talent to make people feel comfortable rather than feeling overwhelmed by the complexity of medical explanations. I became more and more impressed with Dr. McDonnell with each successive visit.
Then it was my turn.

I developed Lumbar Spinal Stenosis. I live in New Jersey, but was in the habit of going to Manhattan for my healthcare. I believed that the best specialists practiced there. Instead, I chose to be treated by Dr. McDonnell based upon my previous experiences with him when treating my mother. He suggested that we monitor the progress of the stenosis and avoid surgery if possible.

I was ready to move to North Carolina. However, I decided that if I were to need surgery, I would travel back to New Jersey and have Dr. McDonnell perform the surgery.

I had an appointment with Doctor Doumas. First, I got lost getting there and called. My anxiety kicked in and I wanted to cancel my appointment. However Cassandra was polite and kind and talked me all the way in. Then, Dr. Doumas came in and saw that I had tears in my eyes and when I told him why, he began to tear up. He told me he would be praying for me and my situation. Thank you so much for treating me more than a patient. You treated me with loving kindness. There needs to be more of this in the world. So happy I was recommended to Dr. Tony George, after 2 back surgeries years ago, my back was giving me trouble again, after getting 2 steroid injections, that only worked for a couple of days, he recommended the MILD procedure, spinal decompression, got that done about 3 weeks ago and I haven’t felt this good in years, thank you Dr George.

Lindsey was my therapist and many thanks to her that I can now walk normally & put weight on my foot. I was diagnosed with a plantar fascia tear. Lindsey listened to my complaints and was able to tweak my therapy program to address my pain and get me back to normal. Lindsey was both professional and personable. I would definitely recommend using her as a therapist and wouldn’t hesitate to return to her if I were to need any type of therapy again.

Dr. Lu treated my son for a football-related injury and we could not have had a better experience. He was attentive and went above and beyond what we expected in terms of care. Dr. Lu took the time to explain everything in detail, making sure we fully understood the injury. The entire staff was equally impressive- so helpful with scheduling appointments and making the entire process as easy as possible. I just finished my visits to rehabilitation and I can’t say enough about the great work they did to help me handle my discomfort. Anne Inacay was my therapist. She did a wonderful job. On the days Anne was unavailable Carrie continued the process. The whole experience was very comforting, from the girls at the front desk to the people who assisted me with exercises.
