For the sixth consecutive year, Dr. Kenneth G. Swan, Jr. has been named a New York Metro Area Top Doctor for 2017 by Inside Jersey. This designation, which covers the entire state, is the largest of any New Jersey magazine. Dr. Swan was also named in the Top Orthopedics category in Inside Jersey for 2015 and 2016.

Dr. Swan is among a notable group of Hackensack Meridian Health affiliated physicians to be named a 2017 Top Doctor. Hackensack Meridian Health is focused on delivering high-quality healthcare in eight New Jersey hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation centers and in-home settings.

Top Doctors are selected in partnership with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., the gold standard for medical rating research which for more than 20 years has helped consumers with the most authoritative and informed assessment of the region’s doctors.

Only board certified physicians are selected using a “minimal years in practice” standard based on the medical specialty, because studies show quality increases with clinical experience.

Each year, thousands of individual physicians are invited to nominate their peers for consideration. This year in New Jersey, 3,319 distinct doctors received 11,761 nominations. The credentials of every physician are reviewed, including his or her medical education, training, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements and malpractice and disciplinary history. A physician cannot pay to receive this Top Doctor designation.
