August 1, 2010 – University Orthopaedic Associates, a premier Orthopaedic practice in New Jersey, is proud to support our men and women in the armed forces through the 2010 Kessler and Friends Military Golf Benefit. The physicians of University Orthopaedic Associates work to foster a sense of community as New Jersey residents and through their practice, and are proud to support New Jersey’s efforts to provide aid to members of the armed forces and their families.
The 2010 Kessler and Friends Military Golf Benefit’s “Operation Armed Forces” tournament will take place on August 23 at Eagle Oaks Golf Club in Farmingdale, NJ. The benefit is a “Golf Classic Foundation” 501 c3 non-profit event, and 100% of the proceeds go to helping the men and women of our armed forces and their families. Now in its third year, the Kessler and Friends Military Golf Benefit has previously raised over $40,000 for the Armed Forces Foundation and the Departments of Military Morale Welfare, and Recreation.
“It is an honor to be able to support our troops by sponsoring this great day of events,” said Dr. Doumas an Orthopaedic specialist with University Orthopaedic Associates and member of the executive committee. “We take pride in supporting our communities by acknowledging the tremendous dedication of our men and women in the armed forces.”
The theme for this year’s event “Operation Armed Foursome” will feature a registration period with BBQ lunch, the presentation of colors and coin ceremony, and then a shotgun start to kick off the golf tournament. Participants register in teams of three, and then a soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, or Guard actively serving at our military bases joins the team to complete the foursome. A cocktail reception will close the day’s activities.
