Getting older doesn’t mean you have to slow down. Plenty of adults are moving just as well if not better than people half their age. Without missing a step, they seem to be healthier and happier than their less able counterparts. Rarely injured, the recovery process is faster and easier than everyone else. It’s fair to say that no one wants to be the person who is often injured and slow to recover. It’s time to ask yourself:

Are You Slowing Down? Did You Know You Don’t Have to?

You don’t have to sit down or slow down with age. Regular exercise allows adults to keep their mental and physical prowess. Higher mental and physical acuity allows the body to be ready for any challenge. Feel knee pain or back pain coming much sooner than those who don’t exercise regularly. This may lead you into therapy early and even prevent you from doing more damage that may even require surgery. When you realize that your legs don’t lift as high as they used to when you walk, you take extra care to watch the curb and/or steps to avoid tripping.

Our organs also function better with exercise. Reversing type II diabetes happens because exercise regulates your hormones. It helps keep your skin tight, your belly flat, and your heart beating strong. The lack of exercise puts the body in a state of dis-ease. Heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, and other illnesses make you want to take it easy. However, when you sit down and slow down your body tends to stay down. Losing the ability to move and function like you used to. As a lifelong exerciser, you may never experience a signs or symptom of disease. That is why we must do everything in our power to start moving and keep moving as we age. It’s not too late to get started if you are experiencing pain, discomfort, and even illness.

It’s Not Too Late!

So, you don’t exercise. Perhaps you haven’t exercised in years. The amazing news is you can only get better. Possibly reducing the signs and symptoms of disease. It may reduce your pain and discomfort you’re experiencing on a regular basis. You may regain the ability to play with your dog, your kids or grandkids. Get back out there on the golf course and swing like you used to. Go for a hike with confidence. Take control of your life and live it the way you like to by living a healthy, active lifestyle.
