ACL Graft Considerations What are the options

Dr. Patrick Buckley provides an in-depth look at ACL tear treatments and graft choices. He explains that an ACL tear is a common athletic injury resulting in anterior and lateral rotatory instability. Treatment can range from non-operative care for lower-demand patients to reconstruction for those with higher activity levels. The video explores different graft options, including autografts (patient’s own tissue) and allografts (cadaver tissue). Dr. Buckley also discusses a variety of autograft types, such as Bone-Patellar Tendon-Bone (BTB), which is considered the “gold standard” for its bone-to-bone healing, as well as hamstring and quadriceps tendon grafts.
