Fractures to the elbow damage the olecranon, the bone that forms the point or tip of the joint, by either a direct blow or by an indirect blow, which forces the olecranon off the ulna.
Symptoms
- Sudden, intense pain
- Inability to straighten elbow
- Swelling over the bone site
- Bruising around the elbow
- Tenderness to the touch
- Numbness in one or more fingers
- Pain with movement of the joint

- Medication to relieve pain
- Casting
