Did you know that more than 70 percent of all trauma surgical interventions are related to orthopaedic procedures?
Orthopaedic trauma is a branch of orthopaedic surgery specializing in problems related to the bones, joints, and soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments) that result from a severe injury. Orthopedic trauma care covers the spectrum of simple isolated fractures to severe life-threatening accidents with multiple broken bones. The main goal of orthopaedic trauma care is facilitating the healing of the fractured bones, as well as restoring the alignment of joints to allow for recovery and return to maximum function of the injured body part.
University Orthopaedic Associates manages fractures and traumatic injuries to the entire musculoskeletal system. Our trauma specialists are trained in the most current techniques and dedicated to using our expertise and compassion to meet the needs of our patients and their families.
Among our staff are three fellowship trained orthopaedic trauma surgeons, which means they have devoted their efforts to specialized training, giving them the highest qualifications to treat a wide range of trauma injuries with both surgical and non-surgical procedures. We also coordinate post-surgery or hospital visit services to provide appropriate pain control and rehabilitation. We are affiliated with Level 1 RWJ Trauma Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Level 2 trauma center at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
If you are ever in need and must go to the Emergency Room of a hospital, remember that you can request to see one of our UOA trauma physicians. This will ensure that you will be treated by an experienced physician, and one with an excellent reputation.
