“I didn’t think it would be so easy. I felt absolutely no pain. I was at the gym five days later, doing a Zumba class.”
Breaking a Shoulder, Arm and Wrist is never a fun ordeal.. until you meet Dr. Christopher Doumas and Jessica Spivey. They make healing a happy time. Dr. Doumas is always there with a smile and willing to go the extra mile for the patient even when he is not scheduled to work. Jessica takes the “scare factor” out of a brutalizing session of Physical Therapy. I used to dread going to a physical therapist, now, I enjoy the process.
Thank you UOA for having such wonderful staff. Service with a smile is their motto.
“I work with doctors all day long and I have never met a doctor like him. He connects with you on a personal level and never makes you feel like you are being rushed. When you are sending your child into not one, but two surgeries you want to make sure you trust the doctor. I trusted him immediately which says a lot about his character.”
I would like to take this opportunity to thank first of all, Dr. James Monica and his team, who did an excellent job on my shoulder surgery, and the whole physical therapy staff for making me feel at home and always welcomed during my whole physical therapy regimen. My therapist was Neveen – who gave me 100% of her time every session I spent with her. She pushed me to the limits, but was well worth the pain! It’s been almost two years since my rehab, but I can assure you that I am 100% back to my normal routine! I want to thank each and everyone at UOA – you guys are awesome! Definitely my #1 place for rehab!
Dr. Doumas repaired my left shoulder’s extensive rotator cuff and bicep tear in August. I felt confident with his expertise before and after surgery. Much of my successful healing is because of the excellent UOA PT. Lynn and staff are professional and caring and that helped my recuperation immeasurably.
Special thanks to Dr. Monica for his excellence in shoulder reconstruction after a serious fall last July. The night of the accident my husband and I met with the Residents in the Emergency Room. We learned from them that I had suffered a serious fracture that required shoulder reconstruction. They also told us that this is not a common surgery such as hip and knee replacements. When hearing the news that I faced a surgical procedure that is not commonly performed and more complex, I became very apprehensive until Dr. Monica visited me in the Emergency Room.
I was fortunate to get Dr. Monica as my attending physician. Right away he put my mind as ease with his knowledge and ability to communicate in a straightforward yet compassionate manner what to expect. As a surgeon, he is both a skilled clinician and artisan. My shoulder is on the mend and getting better all the time. I am exceedingly pleased that my range of motion has surpassed all expectations. My sincere thanks to Dr. Monica for such a positive medical outcome.
I’ve been to many physical therapy places. Hands down this is the best ever! The professionalism, the atmosphere, the camaraderie is second to none. I will always recommend this place highly to anyone. Neveen is my lifesaver, and someone I highly respect and will never forget. Last but not least, Dr. Coyle thank you for your expertise and being so down to earth.
On June 22, 2010, Cary McCormack and his wife, Nanci, left their Spring Lake Heights home on a road trip to North Carolina. Along the way, the retired high school principal and administrator and his wife of 35 years decided to take a side trip to Charleston, South Carolina.
They had checked into their hotel and were walking down a flight of stairs to retrieve their luggage when Cary missed a step. He fell to the ground, badly injuring his right shoulder.
