UOA was my first choice for PT. My therapist, Ryan is wonderful. He is highly experienced, knowledgable, dedicated and patient. Ryan identified my issues and created treatments and exercises that eased my pain, explaining everything. During my visits to UOA, Ryan used procedures to help alleviate my pain and used various massage techniques to loosen tight muscles. He listened to my concerns and made suggestions to help me between PT visits. I have completed my PT treatments and I am very happy with the results. I am recommending UOA to friends!
Many thanks to Dr. Swan, Jess and Amanda for getting me back in shape after surgery on my knee. I am now able to do just about everything I used to. Their professional expertise was invaluable. If any problems developed they immediately took care of them. This is my second experience at UOA and I highly recommend them.
I would like to extend my appreciation to my physical therapist, Ms. Jesse Spivey in the Wall office. Her patience and understanding reduced my apprehensiveness and made my visits a pleasurable experience. From the first to the last visit, Ms. Spivey made sure I understood what was expected from both of us. Her professional demeanor coupled with her congenial attitude makes her a definite asset to your team. I would recommend her and the entire staff to anyone. They are true professionals and represent University Orthopaedics in a positive manner.
I was very pleased with the care and services I received while getting physical therapy recently at your Somerset location. Ryan was very very good as were the assistants helping with the equipment. I would, and already have, recommended someone to your facility for P.T. Thanks!
Wow-what a great bunch of new friends I met at “UOA”! Rehab was always fun and most importantly so helpful for my physical and mental healing! Vinny and the staff are super professional, knowledgable, patient and fun. This is the place to come to get better!!
Dino did an excellent job! He explained all the exercises very well, told me what they were for and watched while I did them to make sure I was getting the most benefits from them. Every time I came in to PT he asked how I felt to make sure the exercises were helping me and not hurting me. He is very personable and easy to work with.
Dino is an excellent therapist who pushes you beyond what you believe to be your endurance. He has given me motion beyond what could be imagined. His consistency and encouragement is most appreciated and although I have “graduated” I wish could continue working with him. UOA is lucky to have him!
Dino was my therapist. He worked hard to get the movement back in my shoulder. I liked that he knew the problem and did whatever was necessary to get my frozen shoulder moving again. I liked that he was proactive and pushed me to almost full movement to do all my daily needs. UOA has a great PT staff.
My experience at UOA was positive. The therapist was competent, friendly and caring. He took the time to explain what each exercise was accomplishing. He was able to work with several patient simultaneously without me experience down-time between exercises. The entire UOA staff was friendly and helpful.
One sunny November 2017 morning, my husband was painting the outside of our home on an extension ladder. To make a long story short, the ladder collapsed and he fell one way and the ladder went the other way and hit me as I was standing on our front porch. In a split second, I was on the ground and quickly realized that I was in big trouble. We were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center, and the next day, Dr. William Baione was called in to repair my extensive injuries, which consisted of two broken femurs and a broken right hip. Since I had previous hip surgeries, I knew I was in for a long recovery. After Dr. Baione explained my injuries and told me of his plan for the surgeries I required, my angst and trepidation was eased. His bedside manner, calm demeanor and obvious compassion were remarkable. After ten days at Jersey Shore and eight weeks at a rehab facility, I was able to return home, walking with assistance. Every appointment with Dr. Baione was positive and informative. He carefully explained my plan of care, and every milestone of my recovery was recognized and celebrated. I was able to return to work less than three months later. Although I am still recovering, I am back to a “new normal”. I am the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at a small specialized health sciences high school in New Brunswick. The mission of our school is to assist students from underrepresented communities aspire to careers in healthcare. During one of our conversations, Dr. Baione volunteered to come to speak to our students about his career as an orthopedic surgeon and his life story of perseverance, hard work, and success. He was able to relate to our students in a personal way, as he was raised by a single mother in an inner city neighborhood. Our students and staff were completely blown away by his brilliance, honesty, humility and awesomeness!! They say that “every cloud has a silver lining”. The accident was the cloud but meeting this incredible surgeon and human being was the silver lining. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Baione and his staff for the wonderful care I received at University Orthopaedic Associates.
