On 4/23 I had my right knee replaced by Dr. Baione who I was referred to by Tara, who works at the Morganville office. Thanks to Tara, Dr. Baione and his staff everything went as planned. Then came my PT follow-ups. I met Tara and Donna who helped me coordinate my treatments with my personal schedule. They couldn’t have been more respectful and courteous during this experience. They should be considered a huge asset to UOA. Then it became time to start my actual PT. I had the pleasure of working with Joe Abadir and Mateo. They put me through a rigorous treatment plan which they formulated for me and addressed any and all of my needs and concerns. They were so respectful and professional that I almost forgot about the pain. They treated me more like a friend rather than a patient. When I first started my treatment I had difficulty walking and was in a lot of pain. I learned a new term called “range of motion” and this improved after each visit with them. I went from a walker to a cane to having the ability to climb stairs with no pain. All of this occurred in a much shorter time than I ever expected due to the way these two guys took care of me. If I ever owned a business it would be highly successful if I had employees like Tara, Donna, Joe, and Mateo. From Tara introducing me to Dr. Baione and his staff to going back to Morgaville again with Tara, Donna, Joe & Mateo, I had an extremely successful experience and I would highly recommend UOA to anyone that I know who has an orthopaedic issue. Great crew!

I have a meniscus tear in my right knee which required physical therapy. My physical therapist is Joseph Abadir in Morganville. For four months, I was his patient. Joe applied treatments to my knee with great care and was attentive to my needs, whether applying heat or ice packs. Joe is an excellent therapist and very knowledgeable. He effectively demonstrated and communicated the different exercises I had to do and I made significant improvements under his care. Joe is a very personable and professional therapist who always had time to answer my questions and concerns. I recommend Joe highly and would go back to him for any kind of physical therapy, follow-up or continued maintenance.

From the very start Mike was helpful and supportive. He took the time to listen about my injury. He carefully explained the game plan. Both he and Nadine were very encouraging throughout the process. I am glad I switched to UOA!

Following my total knee replacement surgery I had physical therapy at UOA Morganville. I cannot begin to say how pleased I was with the care and attention I received. A huge shoutout to my therapist, Joseph Abadir, and his assistant Nadine. I could not have done as well without them. They were patient, explaining the exercise, answering any questions I had, and cheering me on with my progress. Having the same therapist throughout was a plus and created a bond. We often had conversations where everyone joined in. When I finished my therapy after 7 weeks I headed south for the winter. Joe provided me with printouts of exercises for me to continue on my own. I am confident that my recovery was aided by the time I spent in therapy. I can recommend UOA Morganville enthusiastically to anyone seeking PT.

Vincent was my therapist at UOA. I have had quite a lot of physical therapy over the years and Vincent is the best. The exercises were simple, not too many, but they have made a big difference. Most important, I can continue doing them at home. Vincent listens, answers questions, cares and pays attention to each individual. Vincent and Dr. Doumas – what a dynamic duo!

Rehab care by my therapist Kar has made such great improvement in my ability to walk and move comfortably after knee surgery. She has so many ways to help you strengthen your muscles, increase flexibility, and improve balance. She made sure I could meet the basic milestones plus the additional activities I wanted to be able to do. Kar made sure she challenged me and I challenged myself and she provided positive reinforcement every visit. And she knows how to find the spot in your muscle that hurts, and fix it. So happy I was assigned to her practice!

I must say, I like the fact that you can meet with your doctor and go right next-door to physical therapy -big plus. After some healing time from the surgery, I was introduced to Lindsay Balint, my physical therapist for the next six months. In the beginning, I could barely lift my arm but with Lindsey‘s funny and great attitude for recovery, I was able to achieve the goals she set forth. By understanding my personal strengths and weaknesses, I was able to walk out doing everything that I did before the accident. Thank you so much, Lindsey.
PS. Everyone in Avenel, from the secretaries to the other physical therapists and aids were all professional and friendly.
In the early stages of my ACL recovery, I began using the BFR to restrict blood flow to my injured leg during select exercises. The BFR helped me start to build muscle back at a faster rate and my leg/knee as a whole felt stronger when I used it. At the time, I was moving off of my crutches and out of my brace, and the BFR undoubtedly sped up this process. It helped me gain confidence in my progress and reduce the atrophy in my leg. I would most definitely recommend incorporating BFR training to future ACL recovery patients because I attribute a large part of my progression to my use of the BFR band.

This past Sunday, for the first time in ten years I went skiing. Without the bi-lateral hip replacement from June 2020, this wouldn’t have been remotely possible. I want to thank Dr. K and the entire staff for literally getting me back on my feet again.
P.S. I will be 68 in a month!
