I have been thoroughly pleased with my whole experience with UOA. Dr. Kayiaros did a wonderful job on my knee replacement. Lauren Stull and the entire nursing staff were always there to support me and answer any questions that I had. Lastly, Lucas Suydam did a great job as my physical therapist getting my new knee to where I needed it to be. Couldn’t have been happier with the whole process!

I had a left total knee replaced by Dr. Kayiaros. I waited about four months to have my surgery done by him, because I was told he was the best. Well, he certainly is!! I never had to take any of the pain medications that were prescribed prior to surgery. When I got home the day of the surgery, I was able to walk up 15 steps! Daily phone calls from the Somerset Surgical Center answered any concerns I had. The next two weeks were filled with physical therapists coming to my home and working with me so I was able to return to normal everyday living.
I started my outpatient physical therapy three weeks after my surgery in UOA Avenel. My therapist was Ben Glider. His reviews, posted by others, were so positive that I was excited to start. I have to say that working with Ben was a great experience. He was very professional, knowledgeable, understanding and caring. He also made my sessions enjoyable with his sense of humor. I highly recommend Ben, and the rest of the staff in Avenel, for anyone requiring physical therapy. I am now walking without assistance from any device and pain-free less than two months after my surgery. University Orthopaedic Associates are the best!!
I have been going to see Dr. Kayiaros for over 4 years. He did a total right hip replacement in April 2019 and a total left hip replacement in March 2023. There is not enough praise and thanks I can give him for how great the 2 surgeries went. I had hardly any pain coming home from either surgery. Dr. Kayiaros was professional, knowledgeable, and I trusted him and his staff completely. There was hardly any pain weeks after the surgeries. I was up and back to my normal routine in about 4 days post-op. I no longer needed a cane or a walker within 5 days post-op. I highly recommend Dr. Kayiaros and his staff. Also the first surgery was at RWJ Somerset, each person there was so caring and the hospital was good. The second was done at UOA facility upstairs in UOA main office. There too the staff was very good and everything went smoothly. Very happy with my results.

After 3 left knee surgeries from another orthopedic doctor and left severely disabled with no more patella tendon, Dr. Kayiaros repaired the knee with the 4th surgery. After much research, I chose Dr. Stephen Kayiaros as my surgeon for a total hip replacement. I feel better leaving the hospital than I felt walking in. Post surgery pain was extremely well managed. The debilitating pain I suffered from arthritis is completely gone. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kayiaros. His list of credentials is extensive. His personality is very calm and comforting. Before I had surgery, I had to rely on a walker and now, I am regaining, my life and my freedom. I never thought that I could say that a hospital stay and Surgery was wonderful, but this was. This past Sunday, for the first time in ten years I went skiing. Without the bi-lateral hip replacement from June 2020, this wouldn’t have been remotely possible. I want to thank Dr. K and the entire staff for literally getting me back on my feet again.
